Tirthan Valley derived it’s name from River Tirthan which actually originates from a glacier called Tirath. Perched at an altitude …

Fly like a bird- Checked | Chote Chote steps towards bade bade dreams
*************************************
So I have this habit of making a 'things to do' list. Will come to that Bucket list wala part later (trust me, it's an interesting one). Once upon a time I wrote- "fly like a bird".
.
I used to be hell scared of heights (I still am).. and I always wanted to overcome that fear. Though I didn't know the action plan for doing the same.
.
On 1st trip by Travel Affairs to Bir Billing, paragliding was on the list. After reaching the paragliding site, I was like- NEVER.. I just can't jump from a mountain and let myself die.
.
It took me few minutes to convince myself that yes, I have to jump.. there was no escape..
.
I jumped finally! And I told my pilot about my bucket list and the dream of flying. I also told him that he was the first person I am sharing this with.
.
I realised later that it must have been so irritating for him. After few thought later, I started enjoying being in air..
.
But I was scared..
It's really good to face your fear. I can now successfully watch down from 20th floor. Lol.
.
P.S Now I wonder about birds. I mean, how cool their life is. Like, Mah Sky, Mah Rulez. Aah! Wish to be a bird!
  • #throwback from Malaysia
.
It was my 1st International trip and hence, it will always remain special, forever.
.
I was randomly going through my hard disk and couldn't stop myself sharing few of my favorite pictures from the trip.
.
One of the best moment was when I was capturing a video and randomly few kids started shouting from their school window. I couldn't understand what they were saying but whatever it was, it was sweet and they were very excited. .
They smiled at me, few flying kisses and yes, they dabbed for me too 😍😍
.
Aah! What a trip!
.
Btw, if you are planning to travel International anytime soon, please take a note:

  • From one adventure to another, what a life!
.
Explanation: Something major happening in life which I will share with you all in sometime. But for now, just know that every single day is fun and adventure. I got time to travel and guess what, I am scared (a little bit). Time to hustle! Complete pending tasks, learn and apply. And most importantly, travel! Because when I am traveling, my usual energy level is 110%
.
Blessed! Grateful! .

Birth of Travel Affairs | Chote Chote steps towards bade bade dreams
*************************************
How did it all start is a big time question.
It was Feb. 2017. Frustration in life was at it's peak. Was not happy in professional life, neither in personal. (I just had a breakup after 5 years of relationship, if that helps you all to understand the depth of it). I thought, why not go on a solo trip (1st solo trip). One close friend was completely against it and I failed to express my anxiety and situation to him. He was of the opinion that only depressed people go on a solo trip. .
Well, actually there was something in me that I myself failed to understand. I thought a solo trip would help
.
He said, I will join you on trip. We chose Bir-Billing as destination. Somehow, 10 other people joined. In the group of 12 out of which 7 were strangers to me. And guess what, I had to organize everything. It's like you are in mood to chill all day in your PJ's and survive on a sandwich and cold coffee but your mom tells you to cook a three course meal for uninvited guests. I know that's not a very good example but you understood it, right?
.
I so wished to spend some time with myself but then 11 people were kind of a responsibility on me. I never never wished to take care of the group but I had to. It was fun though. I mean, it certainly is not an easy job to plan and execute a group trip like that. We started with dancing in a random dhaba and then my friend got a "matka" full of bhaang on the trip. I was the only sober one in the group, rest 11 were laughing, crying, blabbering, and don't even ask what they were doing. .
After looking at those "high on bhaang" people, I decided never to even touch bhaang. I mean, till now, I have never tried it.
.
Trip went very well!
I made a whatsapp group for 12 of us to communicate things. Had to name that group.
.
"Travel Affairs" it was.

Girl in the city (alone) | Chote Chote steps towards bade bade dreams
*************************************
After spending 8 years in Faridabad, it was quite difficult to manage alone in a new city.
Actually, let me tell you something.
That time also, almost everyone asked me that why am I even shifting there. Well, the actual reason was- I wanted to challenge myself and check if I would be able to manage.
.
Chandigarh has a lot to offer to nature lovers. Sukhna Lake became my permanent spot. After office, I used to visit there (yes, at 3 am). It was no less than a dare. But watching full moon and a sky full of stars, peaceful lake and a light from far off gurudwara, and no one around. All this was worth.
.
It's difficult to find such calm place in a city.
.
I started finding out ways of keeping myself busy.
Internships, NGO's, Volunteer programs, etc. etc. etc.
.
I was working too but that "chull" of doing something extra! .
And with this part, ends the boring monotonous life in Chandigarh. After this, something happened that changed almost everything. Wait for the next part for real adventure & fun.
.

Accept life! | Chote Chote steps towards bade bade dreams
*************************************
I managed to get a new job in Chandigarh. I remember during interview, I was asked- What kind of a job are you looking for? (Honestly, the ideal question would have been - "What kind of a boss are you looking for?")
I said - "something that doesn't involve a path to walk on everyday. Like no A to B to C wali job. I want something new to do everyday"
.
My manager took my answer too seriously and I was given one such role.
I was totally enjoying it.
(Something you should know: My mom made that impression that I just don't want to work. She started believing that whatever job I take up, I eventually find ways to leave that. Hell No!)
And this is something which I totally failed to explain her that I so wanted to work but my emotions are involved with whatever I do. I just can't work for the sake of it. ((((To add on, it's 2019 end, till now, she believes the same. Parents can be too adamant at time))))
.
Back to the job, I used to do night shifts (5 pm to 2 am) and I remember my 1st day at work when I had to drive back home alone at 3 am. Ofcourse I was scared. But then, there was no other choice.
.
Different weird thoughts in mind!
What if POGO (my car) breaks down in mid way ?
What if someone starts following me..
What if my cellphone stops working..
What if! What if! What if!
.
It's not easy to be a female in India anyway. (I could just think of blaming the country's security system that day)
.
Hold on!
Have you ever dated someone younger to you?
No no, I didn't. I just got one proposal, so asked. (Or maybe I did for a while)
.
That's a different chapter in itself. Better I don't talk about it ;)
.
P.S. Chandigarh is safe for girls, even at night.
I started enjoying late night driving. Almost everyday after work, I used to visit Pahalwan Dhaba on Delhi-Chandigarh highway and used to have my favourite Aloo-pyaaz parantha with extra butter and masala chai.
.
Stay tuned for the next part. This are going to be more interesting now onwards..

I became the trip organiser! What ? | Chote Chote steps towards bade bade dreams
*************************************
From "awkward complexity of saying hi to strangers" to "hello everyone, this is Heena, your co-host for the trip", it was one scary transition and I can't forget those 25 people looking at me. (Awkward me), but I wanted to do it.
.
I was not a "traveler" that time, neither I was exposed much to such kind of situations. All I kept on telling myself was ""Heena, trip is a very important part in anyone's life. A person has taken out 3 days out of her life, give them the best experience""
Dedication dekh rahe ho?
.
Let's talk about Jalori Pass now.
As I am writing this, trust me, i have goose bumps (and listening to Illahi) ! The place is magic. I felt instantly in love with it. It was just not about the mountains.. Waha uss pahaad ki hawa mein ek nasha sa tha. Maine apni zindagi mein pehle itni khushi mehsus hi nahi ki thi....
.
I had witnessed such beautiful place for the first time ever in my life. Misty, cloudy, rainy, magical.
.
Danced in rain,
Served dinner to strangers,
Trekked,
Introspected,
Laughed,
Cried,
Saw one of the best possible sky,
Had food with the views,
And so many .
For that moment I was lost.
.
Now what?
(Technically, that trip kinda changed my life)
.
P.S. Life became a confusion.. बहोत बड़ी वाली ! .
.
